We have been learning about different shapes.
We drew the shapes on the concrete with chalk.
Can you see a triangle? How do you know it is a triangle?
Which shape has no straight sides? What is it called?
Look for shapes all around you.

Drawing shapes
Making popcorn
We have been learning the letter p, so we made some popcorn.
Look how the packet changed from being flat to being fat!
Popcorn is made by heating up dried corn.
Try making this with your family. It is a healthier snack.

Blowing noses
With winter on the way you may need to blow your nose.
Get a tissue and cover your nose.
Blow 5 times out of each nostril.
Wipe your nose and throw the tissue in the rubbish bin.
Remember also to keep warm, eat healthy foods and get lots of sleep.
Taekwondo, week 3
Today's session was started with a warm up where we had to listen carefully to the instructions.
We practiced the scissor switch kick. You need good balance.
Floating and sinking
Our science experiment today was to design a shape that would float.
We tried different shapes like flat, sphere and long. Did they float?
Alicia was the first to discover and make a shape that floated.
Try this at home, just get some play dough. What other shapes can you make?

Tekwondo, week 2
After our foot kick we had to do 5 star jumps. This helps us build up our fitness.
We can tell people to go away if we do not like what they are doing.
Tasting coconut water
Monica's mum kindly sent some coconut water for us to try.
It was clear and smelt like coconut.
Some of us had never tried it before.
We found out that 4 children did not like it BUT 8 children did.
How do they collect the water? Does your family drink it?
Science experiments
What would happen when a few drops of food colouring was added to water?
The red food colouring looked like it had exploded in the water.
Finally all the water turned red.
What would happen if you put green food colouring in the water?

We wanted to know which piece of paper would fall to the floor first.
It was important to drop both pieces at the same time from the same height.
You could try this at home with your family. Make a guess and then test it.

Goldie the goldfish
Mrs Hoeberigs brought Goldie to school. He lives in a pond with 13 other goldfish.
We looked at the scales, fins, tail, gills, eyes and mouth.
Goldfish live in fresh water. They make good pets, just don't feed them too much!
Remember the story A Fish Out Of Water?
