We used different equipment to make and create vehicles.
It was important to remember to put on the seat belt when we got in the car.
Working together helped us to explore more.

Being safe in the car

BRAKE gave our school some bags and drink bottles.
The message to remember is:
Belt ON. Phone OFF. Make it a habit!

Crossing the road

Constable Teina helped us to practice using a road.
Stop at the kerb, look right, look left, listen.
If is safe to cross,  walk across checking right and left.

Sneaky driveways

When you walk along the footpath keep next to the houses.
If you cannot see check before walking past a driveway.

Using the pedestrian crossing

Constable Teina explained how to use the pedestrian crossing.
A lot of traffic went by on the road.
Remember for the road patrol to say 'Cross now' before you walk across.

Stepping out.

Constable Teina taught us how to cross the road correctly.
You are not allowed to cross the road on your own until you are 8 years old.
Always look left, right and keep looking as you cross the road.

Make it click.

As part of road safety week,  we practiced putting on a seat belt.
It is important to hear the CLICK sound.
Always buckle up your seat belt in the car.  Make it click.
