Leaves

Our letter this week is l.
Mrs  Hoeberigs brought in different leaves from her garden.
We noticed the sizes, shapes and veins.
Next time you are looking at plants notice the leaves.

Eating jelly

Our jelly has set overnight in the fridge.
Watch how it wobbles on the plate.

Making jelly

Today we made jelly because we have been reading a poem about jelly.
Jelly on a plate,
Jelly on a plate,
Wibble,  wobble,
Wibble, wobble,
Jelly on a plate.
We mixed the jelly crystals with hot water.
Then we stirred while the crystals dissolved.
Now we have to wait while the jelly sets in the fridge.
You could make jelly in the holidays with your family.

Where is the caterpillar going?

Over the last few days the caterpillar has grown.
Now he is on the move.
This morning he has attached himself to the wall.
What will happen next?

He's getting bigger!

Look how much the caterpillar has grown over the weekend.

Ali found a very tiny caterpillar.  We put it on our swan plant.

Mrs Hoeberigs noticed steam coming off the playground.
We noticed it was where the sun was hitting the wood.

Preying mantis

At the end of the day we let the preying mantis go back to it's natural environment.

Look what was trying to get into our school this morning when Mrs Pedersen came to school.
We looked at the preying mantis and saw it is an insect.
They love to eat other bugs. Monica wrote a story about the preying mantis.

Monarch Butterflies

We have been learning about monarch butterflies.
There are many fat caterpillars munching on the swan plants.
Look how one is hanging upside down ready to change into a chrysalis.
What will happen next? 

Spring has arrived

When we walked around the school we saw many signs of spring.
