As part of the whole school inquiry on pests, we contributed some displays from what we had learnt.
We should be very proud of what we produced.
Keep on thinking about how to keep our environments pest free.

ANZAC service
Today was the last day for term 1. We finished with a school ANZAC service.
We remember all those that fought and worked in the war to make our country a free and safe place.
Go to an ANZAC service on 25th April or watch the events on television.

Plant pest
Mrs O'Brien discovered that we had moth plant in one of our gardens.
Auckland City Council name it as a plant which needs eradicating from our environment.
Check it is not growing in your gardens. If so dispose of it carefully.

Learning to write.
We try to write the words we know and the sounds we can hear when we decide what we want to write.
Next we publish the work and illustrate . Now we can share our writing.
Remember to keep writing in the holidays.

Stick spiders
Now that we have learning about spiders we are able to create our own.
Did you know that spiders have 8 legs and 8 eyes?
Some spiders are pests as they are poisonous.
BUT many people like them because they are a natural way to control other pests.
Duffy Role Model Assembly
Robert Rakete was our Duffy role model today.
He is a dad and knows how important it is to read.
We saw his favourite book which he got as a boy.
During his career he has worked on radio and has been a Wiggle.
Thank you to Jarvis Trading for being our sponsor.
Now we all have two new books to read at home.
