Room 1 takes school assembly

On Monday room 1 took the school assembly.
Some of us had to lead the National Anthem,  school song and prayer, or introduce speakers.
We shared a song and some other information about butterflies and caterpillars.
We all did very well and feel proud of ourselves.

Kiwi Can - responsibility

Snake in the grass was a fun warm up game.
Afterwards we had to work in pairs being responsible for moving a precious egg, really a ball. We had to work together so that we would not drop it.

Being responsible

Kiwi Can are teaching us to be responsible.
This means looking after things and people.
Look at Princess being responsible and helping to tie a shoe lace.

Get Set Go week 4

We were allowed to select an object to throw and catch.
To catch properly you need to get your hands like a nest and use your eyes to watch.
Have a go at this at home and get a friend to join in.

Blowing noses

Winter is coming. To help us keep healthy it is important to know how to blow your nose correctly.
Get a tissue and hold it over your nose.
Do 5 blows in to the tissue.
Wipe your nose and put the tissue in a rubbish bin.

Being creative

Lorenzo made a robot using different coloured rods.

Science experiment week 3

So what happens when you mix oil and water together?
Have you ever noticed what happens when you wash your frying pan?
Have you ever seen a puddle with oil in it?
Look what happened when we shook oil and water together?

Solving puzzles

Through exploring,  trying and working together we can solve problems.
These puzzles and activities made us really think about how we could complete them.

Assembly awards, term 2 week 3

ERO powhiri

This morning we greeted ERO with a powhiri.
They are here to look our us as learners.
Well done to all the learners who took part.

Happy Mother's Day

Well done Militina for your excellent writing about your mum.

Get Set Go, session 1

Today we had our first session of Get Set Go with Beauty.
The game was traffic lights. It was important to listen to the words green and red.
Some children had a go at being the leader.

We had to test which one was the hardest to rip.

Dog safety

Well done Jonathan for doing the right thing when there was a dog in the school grounds. Remember to be a tree.

Today we made patterns with ourselves.

School Assembly, term 2 week 1

Kiwi Can, session 1

Today we started Kiwi Can. What a lot of learning we did while having fun.
Honesty is the best policy.  Always tell the truth.  Lies can hurt people and make them feel sad or angry.
