Jovi clay modelling

This is our first time using the Jovi modelling clay.
We could experiment with it.
Because the weather is so cold we had to warm it up first.
We will be creating lots of different things over the next few weeks.

Farewell Mrs Raj

Mrs Raj began teaching at Ruapotaka School when she was a beginning teacher.
She has taught many learners over the years. We will be sad to see her leave but wish her all the very best teaching at the new school.

Eating jelly

Our jelly has set overnight in the fridge.
Watch how it wobbles on the plate.
Was raspberry or orange your favourite flavour?

Making jelly

Today we made jelly because we have been reading a poem about jelly.
Jelly on a plate,
Jelly on a plate,
Wibble,  wobble,
Wibble, wobble,
Jelly on a plate.
We mixed the jelly crystals with hot water.
Then we stirred while the crystals dissolved.
Now we have to wait while the jelly sets in the fridge.
You could make jelly in the holidays with your family.
What flavor is your favourite?

Circuits for fitness

We have been working in groups for daily fitness.
It is great that we all help and encourage each other.
This is a good way to keep warm as well.

Tane and the stars

As part of our Matariki inquiry we read a story about Tane.
We are pleased that he made stars for the night sky.
Sometimes we don't see the stars, why not?

Winter frost

This morning the temperature was down to 3 degrees.
We noticed frost on the grass at fitness time.
Can you see what will make the frost disappear?
How are you keeping warm on these frosty mornings?

Get wise with money

Jayden from ASB taught us how to be super heroes with money.
It is important to save some and spend some.
Think of a safe place to save your money.  Maybe a bank, a money box or jar.
There are coins and notes.  You can buy more with the notes.
Talk about saving money with your family.
