Gymnastics
This week we had to learn the landing shape.
It is important to land the correct way - feet flat, knees bent, arms out straight.
We also played Stuck in the Mud.
Plants provide us with most of our food
We had to decide and sort the foods.
Look what we discovered! Most of the food we eat comes directly from plants.
Next time you go shopping see if you can decide if the food you see comes from a plant or not.

Parts of plants
As part of our study on plants we had to sketch and then label the parts of a plant.
Next time you are looking at a plant see if you can find the stem, leaves, roots and flowers.
Look how we created plants from equipment.
Gymnastics
How lucky we were to begin our gymnastics sessions today.
We had to learn static positions and balance.
Can you practice what we learnt in you r own time?

Room one's garden
Today we planted another native plant in our garden.
This is a manuka and it will attract the bees.
Manuka honey from New Zealand is the best in the world.
What will we need to do to make sure it grows well?
Thursday, 13 October 2016
It was a beautiful spring day when we visited the gardens in Manurewa.
We discovered many different types of plants. Look at all the different leaves and flowers.
How do plants survive in different growing conditions?
